Battlefront - you're already involved

Over the course of the past few months in the US and across the world we have witnessed the extraordinary impact of a new generation of young people coming together using the Web to champion social and political change...

Barack Obama’s victory and the online army of volunteers and supporters that drove it is proof of the vast possibilities of a wired social network.

As Scott Heiferman, founder of Meetup.com, put it “The cat is out of the bag. The people have it in their brains that they can organise themselves.”

Over the course of the last few months Channel 4's Battlefront project has provided a platform for young people to explore how they can use the Web to create new campaigns to foster change in the world around them.

On the evening of the 11 December you will be able to meet and hear from some of the campaigners and mentors in our active in Battlefront and also hear from;

Andy Duncan - the Chief Executive, Channel 4

Battlefront Campaigners Alexander Rose and Aimee Nathan

Martha Lane-Fox, founder of www.lastminute.com and a Board member of Channel 4 and Marks and Spencer

Paul Miller - founder of The School of Everything

Duane Raymond - Chief Executive Fairsay

We will be bring together a mix of campaigners, politcians, activists, students, teachers and volunteers to discuss, debate and celebrate our new ability to connect and collaborate to bring about social change in a way that was unimaginable only a few years ago.
